Description
The Powder Blue Gourami is a popular freshwater labyrinth fish known for its striking powder-blue body and elegant fins. Males are more vibrantly colored, with red highlights on the fins, while females are paler. They are peaceful, slow-moving fish that are highly appreciated for their calm presence and graceful swimming in community aquariums.

Native Location
Native to slow-moving rivers, ponds, and swamps in India and Bangladesh, where they inhabit shallow, densely vegetated waters.

Size
Grows up to about 6–7 cm (2.5–3 inches) in length.

Care Requirements
Powder Blue Gouramis prefer aquariums with plenty of plants and hiding spaces. Ideal water temperature is 24–28°Cwith a slightly acidic to neutral pH. They are omnivorous and accept flakes, pellets, frozen foods, and live foods such as brine shrimp or daphnia. A gentle filter and calm water flow are recommended due to their labyrinth breathing system.

Temperament
Generally peaceful and suitable for community aquariums with other calm fish. Males may show mild territorial behavior during breeding but are mostly non-aggressive in well-planted tanks.
