Description
The Cardinal Tetra is a small, vibrant freshwater fish prized for its bright blue body and striking red stripe running from the mid-body to the tail. Its dazzling colors and synchronized schooling behavior make it a favorite among aquarists for planted and community aquariums.

Native Location
Native to slow-moving rivers and tributaries in the Amazon Basin, particularly in Brazil, Colombia, and Peru, often inhabiting clear, acidic waters with dense vegetation.

Size
Grows up to about 4–5 cm (1.5–2 inches) in length.

Care Requirements
Cardinal Tetras thrive in well-planted aquariums with gentle water flow. Ideal water temperature is 23–27°C with slightly acidic to neutral pH. They are omnivorous and readily accept flakes, micro pellets, frozen foods, and small live foods. Best kept in schools of at least 6–10 individuals to maintain natural schooling behavior.

Temperament
Very peaceful and ideal for community tanks with other small, calm fish. Their schooling behavior adds vibrant movement to the aquarium, making them visually appealing without stressing tankmates.
