Description The Bronze Corydoras is a hardy and popular freshwater catfish known for its metallic bronze-green body and peaceful behaviour. These active bottom dwellers constantly search the substrate for food, helping keep the aquarium clean. Their calm nature and adaptability make them ideal for beginner aquarists.
Native Location Native to slow-moving rivers and streams in South America, particularly in countries such as Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil.
Size Adult fish typically grow to about 6–7 cm (around 2.5–3 inches) in length.
Care Requirements Bronze Corydoras prefer aquariums with soft sand or smooth substrate, gentle filtration, and plenty of hiding spots. Ideal water temperature ranges from 22–26°C. They should be kept in groups of at least 5–6 fish and fed sinking pellets, wafers, and occasional live or frozen foods.
Temperament Very peaceful and social. Best kept in groups and compatible with most community aquarium fish that are non-aggressive.
