Description
The Black Bar Endler is a colourful livebearer known for the distinctive black vertical bar on the body combined with bright orange and metallic green patterns. Males display the most vibrant colours and are constantly active, making them a lively addition to nano and planted aquariums.
Native Location
Native to freshwater lagoons and streams in Venezuela, particularly around Laguna de Patos.
Size
Adult males typically grow up to 2–2.5 cm (around 1 inch), while females can grow slightly larger.
Care Requirements
Black Bar Endlers are hardy and easy to maintain. They thrive in aquariums with temperatures between 22–28°C and accept a wide variety of foods including flakes, micro pellets, and live or frozen foods. A planted aquarium provides ideal conditions.
Temperament
Very peaceful and active. They do well in community aquariums with other small, non-aggressive fish and are best kept in small groups.
