Native Location Native to slow-moving streams and tributaries in South America, particularly in Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina.
Size Adult males typically grow up to 6–7 cm (around 2.5 inches), while females are smaller at about 4–5 cm (around 1.5–2 inches).
Care Requirements Apistogramma trifasciata prefer well-planted aquariums with driftwood, caves, and hiding places. Ideal water temperature ranges between 24–28°C with slightly soft and acidic water. They thrive on a varied diet including pellets, flakes, and live or frozen foods.
Temperament Generally peaceful but territorial during breeding. Best kept as a pair or in a carefully planned community aquarium with small, calm tank mates.
